Welcome
to Tingley Glass! Jan Winemiller
is a member of the Tingley family, one of the Harford area's founding
families. No wonder, then, that when the time came to open her
glass studio, Jan settled at Tingley Lake, right down the road
from her family's original homestead.
In
her private home studio, Jan creates jewelry, tableware, windows
and more using both stained glass and kiln-forming techniques,
characterized by a playful use of color and refined attention
to finish.
In 2011, Jan opened a larger studio & store in Scranton,
PA. There the gift shop & gallery of Tingley Glass & Friends showcases
the work of talented local artisans, including glass, pottery,
jewelry, woodcraft, fiber arts & more. Custom design projects
are welcome, and expert repairs are a specialty.
Tingley
Glass also serves as a creative education and support center.
Jan teaches classes for students of all ages and abilities, in
stained glass, fusing, jewelry making and mosaics. Her studio
also provides space for glass artists who seek a fully equipped
creative space in which to work.
As the region's largest retail supplier, Tingley Glass serves
professionals and hobbyists alike with glass, tools and equipment
for all aspects of glass craft.
Jan's
private studio in Harford is not open to the public, except during
the Artists Open House Weekend, and her own Spring and Fall Open
House events.
Tingley Glass in Dickson City is open every day. Store hours
are Monday - Friday 10am-8pm; Saturday 10am-6pm; Sunday 11am-5pm.
