Artist
Rich Griffith works in watercolor,
acrylics and pastel and he paints in a realist style. Griffith enjoys
creating sharp focus watercolors of old cars, trucks, and farm machinery.
He specializes in house portraits. Most of his subject matter consists
of local scenery and historical buildings. “My inspiration comes
from travels in N. E. Pennsylvania and up-state New York. I feel
fortunate to live and paint in such a beautiful and diverse area,”
Griffith says.
He
has exhibited with the Hill Country Artists in Montrose, the Harford
Fair, Old Mill Village, the Wyoming Valley Art League Fine Arts
Fiesta, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. and the Susquehanna County Library and
Historical Societys Annual Blueberry Festival on the Montrose
Green. Some of his paintings are presently on display at Penn
Star Bank and the Montrose House, Montrose, Pa., and in the Clark
Summit, Pa., office of Congressman Chris Carney. Richs art
work is included in numerous private and corporate collections.
His
work has been accepted in juried art exhibits including the Images
of Susquehanna County, The Endless Mountains Council of the Arts
Regional Art Shows, Tunkhannock, Pa., and the Everhart Museum,
Scranton, Pa. Griffiths paintings have been displayed at
Congressman Chris Carneys Washington, D.C. offices and the
Luzerne County Regional Art Exhibit at the Kirby Center, Wilkes-Barre,
Pa., in conjunction with the 2006 Governors Awards for the
Arts in Pennsylvania.
Rich
received the Peoples Choice Award for a landscape painting
at the Endless Mountains Council of the Arts 2006 Regional Art
Exhibit. One of his paintings was displayed at the Luzerne County
Regional Art Exhibit at the Kirby Center, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in
conjunction with the 2006 Governors Awards for the Arts
in Pennsylvania.
