Artist Rich Griffith works in watercolor, acrylics and pastel and he paints in a realist style. Griffith enjoys creating sharp focus watercolors of old cars, trucks, and farm machinery. He specializes in house portraits. Most of his subject matter consists of local scenery and historical buildings. “My inspiration comes from travels in N. E. Pennsylvania and up-state New York. I feel fortunate to live and paint in such a beautiful and diverse area,” Griffith says.

He has exhibited with the Hill Country Artists in Montrose, the Harford Fair, Old Mill Village, the Wyoming Valley Art League Fine Arts Fiesta, Wilkes-Barre, Pa. and the Susquehanna County Library and Historical Society’s Annual Blueberry Festival on the Montrose Green. Some of his paintings are presently on display at Penn Star Bank and the Montrose House, Montrose, Pa., and in the Clark Summit, Pa., office of Congressman Chris Carney. Rich’s art work is included in numerous private and corporate collections.

His work has been accepted in juried art exhibits including the Images of Susquehanna County, The Endless Mountains Council of the Arts Regional Art Shows, Tunkhannock, Pa., and the Everhart Museum, Scranton, Pa. Griffith’s paintings have been displayed at Congressman Chris Carney’s Washington, D.C. offices and the Luzerne County Regional Art Exhibit at the Kirby Center, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in conjunction with the 2006 Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Pennsylvania.

Rich received the People’s Choice Award for a landscape painting at the Endless Mountains Council of the Arts 2006 Regional Art Exhibit. One of his paintings was displayed at the Luzerne County Regional Art Exhibit at the Kirby Center, Wilkes-Barre, Pa., in conjunction with the 2006 Governor’s Awards for the Arts in Pennsylvania.
