Taylor focuses on using materials that he processes
or gathers himself. Hand processed and indigenous clays, as well
as wood, oat straw and hay ashes are transformed by a wood flame
into durable pottery suitable for daily use in kitchen, dining
room or garden. Taylor specializes in large (40" H) jars
and wall platters. Work will be exhibited in the refurbished haymow
of a dairy barn up the hill from his studio. www.stonymeadowpottery.com
In 2007 Taylor began work on his first major sculptural project.
Components of the "Stela Project" will be on display
in Taylor's wood fired kiln while the kiln is firing. The six
to seven day firing will include overlap all three days of the
tour weekend. For more information visit www.jordantaylor.us
