Linda
Truman's interest in the natural world is manifested
in up-close-and-personal, bug's-eye-view watercolors and pastels.
Her images are often portrayed larger than life to draw the
viewer in and enhance the feeling of intimacy with familiar
subjects. Primarily self taught, Linda's travels to shores,
forests, mountains and plains throughout North America provide
her with the observations and inspirations necessary to depict
her subjects with integrity. Her passion for observing and documenting
nature is obvious in her "One Small Square" series
which explores the wealth of life present in even the most simple
environments. Her work is part of numerous private collections.
She also creates hand formed ceramic jewelry which is lightweight
and uniquely original.
To
get to her studio, go to the 706/167 junction east of Montrose
and turn onto S 167. Go south 1 miles and turn onto the first
dirt road on the left. Following signs, proceed approximately
75 feet and turn right. Continue for about 1 miles. The studio
is in the tan barn on the left and it is wheelchair accessible.
