Ely Van Tassel: Hopeinart Studio Rachael grew up in Montrose
and returned to the area after receiving a Master’s Degree in Art Therapy. Rachael
currently works as a Social Worker and Art Therapist, using her free time to create
her art pieces. Each work reflects her growing understanding of the expressiveness
of the personal human experience, evoking thought and emotion through light and
content.
For this series, Rachael has interviewed several people in her
local community and has captured a piece of their stories in single images. Her
goal is to help communities grow closer to one another and heal their hearts through
sharing. We often feel that we are going through life alone, when the greatest
support might be found in our own back yard. Rachael
will be exhibiting her work at the Forest Lake Baptist Church (FLBC) where many
of the stories were collected for this series.
