Rachael & Eric Van Tassel

Formerly known for her detailed conté drawings, Rachael is now exploring minimalist art while adjusting to vision loss.

Currently she is finding enjoyment in reflecting her view of the world through mandala form. “Mandala” is the Sanskrit word for “circle,” used in many cultural and healing contexts. A mandala can be very centering and meditative by nature, and this has been essential for Rachael’s own growth and adjustment after losing her central vision in 2017.

Eric’s work features photographs of the expanses, details, and stories of the world.

Please note that although the brochure directs you to St. Joseph’s Church for the tour stop, Rachael has had to make an unexpected change of venue. This year her work will be on display at Russell Farms Apple Orchard in Brackney, PA (www.russell-farms.com).
