Megan Conner

Artist Statement:

My work, whether functional pottery or decorative tiles, is a study of the natural world. I am inspired by the intricate details of the landscape—the delicate veins of a leaf, the silhouette of wildflowers, or the rugged texture of bark or eroded stone. These elements speak to me of growth, memory, and the passage of time, themes I express through carved and stamped surfaces.

I create pottery that is beautiful, functional, and durable. My wheel-thrown vessels are lead-free and dishwasher-safe, designed to celebrate the daily rituals of eating and drinking. My hand-built tiles and sculptural works, in contrast, are decorative compositions that seek to evoke a sense of quiet mystery. I use colored slips, stains, and glazes to create the subtle tones and textures that define my work and remind us of the simple, enduring beauty of nature.
