Artists’ Open House Weekend on October 10th, 11th, and 12th will mark its 30th anniversary in 2026! 

 

Featuring 21 artists across 17 locations throughout Susquehanna County, PA, visitors can follow the familiar orange arrows on a self-guided tour from stop to stop while enjoying original artwork, special events, live demonstrations, and behind-the-scenes glimpses into the creative process. Set against the backdrop of peak fall foliage, the tour offers a chance to explore the scenic back roads of Susquehanna County while meeting artists in their studios, galleries, and creative spaces. For longtime visitors, it is a continuation of a beloved local tradition. For first-time guests, it is an invitation to discover the artists, stories, and places that make the tour special.

 

In celebration of our 30th year, we will have an Artists’ Open House Weekend 30th Anniversary Show at 35 Pine Street in Montrose that will showcase a selection of work by AOHW artists, past and present. The show opens with a reception on Friday, August 21, from 5:30 to 8 p.m., with live entertainment, food and drink, and an opportunity to meet the artists. The exhibition will also be open Saturday, August 22, Friday, August 28, and Saturday, August 29, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. The anniversary show at 35 Pine gives the community an opportunity to look back at the artists who helped shape the event while also celebrating the creativity that continues to carry it forward.

 

Artists’ Open House Weekend began 30 years ago when a small group of artists gathered in a Susquehanna County kitchen and imagined a way to invite the public into the spaces where art is made. Since then, the tour has represented more than 100 artists throughout Susquehanna County and has contributed thousands of dollars to local nonprofits. We look forward to seeing you!
